The instruments selected for the virtual museum were for the most part examples illustrating the evolution in this medical discipline. The inconsistent character of the collection is also reflected in the lack of homogeneity in the number of single instruments divided into their respective branches. However, precisely because this museum is being up-dated and growing continuously, thanks to donations and/or the transfer of objects from the health authorities, we have nonetheless decided to include specialist branches even when only represented by single exhibits.
